Admission requirements
Diploma's and Certificates:
- International Baccalaureate
- General Certificate Secondary Education (GCSE). Requirements: at least 6 exam subjects. Minimum for the examinee subjects is 4 GCSE subjects with grades A*, A, B or C and 2 GCE subjects at A/S Level (no specific grade required). A/S Level means advanced subsidiary level (previously advanced supplementary level).
- Any equivalent education (to be compared by our institution);
Non-EU students must have sufficient knowledge of the English language and be able to show a certificate of:
- IELTS score 6.0 or
- TOEFL paper score 550 or
- TOEFL computer 213 or
- TOEFL internet 80 or
- TOEIC* 670 or
- Cambridge ESOL CAE-C
The minimum age for this course is 18. Please note that Chinese students can only be admitted with IELTS result.
Exemptions
In some cases it is possible to be admitted to the second or third year of the IBMS programme if a student has studied at another college or university in a similar field of study. The Admission Office will decide whether the student meets the required standards to be admitted to the second or third year.
Pre course
Before the start of each course Fontys organises an intensive pre course to enhance English proficiency for students who have not reached the required level in English. This 5 months course has to be followed and completed successfully before a student can be admitted to the IBMS main course. Minimum requirements to be admitted to the pre course is TOEFL 525 (IbT TOEFL 69) or IELTS score of 5.5. More information about the pre course
